Meet Chengetai Mvundura, a Village Health Worker and TB Survivor from Mutoko. As an active member of a TB Survivors support group in her area, Chengetai draws from her personal experience to educate and support others on TB issues. As a village health worker, people visit Chegetai whenever they need anything health related. Part of her roles include distributing family planning pills, tests for Malaria, and holding monthly weight assessments for babies at her house. She uses her interaction with community members to educate and screen people for TB. Chengetai values the opportunity she gets to meet and socialize with other TB survivors during their support group meetings. In her view, these interactions widen her understanding of the realities people face with TB and help her when she executes her duties to the community. As we celebrate Chengetai, we are reminded of all the unsung heroes working tirelessly to end TB in their communities! As the Stop TB Partnership Zimbabwe, we salute their passion and dedication, and we remain committed to supporting their efforts because together, #YesWeCanEndTB!
